I will try to keep this page up to date and accurate with any changes that come between now and when phase 4 goes live (if any changes happen), and will then add this to the wiki when it is live.

Hey, just wanted to post something in game to try and better communicate what to expect with updates going forward. I now have smuggling phase 4 nearly ready to release. Once it is live it will introduce the following changes:

The updates will be available in the Submarine info card in your cartel smugging page.

Costs

Each tier will have a different cost. They are:

Tier 1:
Cash: £100,000,000
Steel: 750
Concrete Bags: 300
Nails: 300
Bricks: 500

Tier 2:
Cash: £125,000,000
Steel: 1,000
Concrete Bags: 400
Nails: 400
Bricks: 750

Tier 3:
Cash: £150,000,000
Steel: 1,250
Concrete Bags: 600
Nails: 600
Bricks: 1,000

In addition to these costs, there is a time cost, for every upgrade there is a prerequisite number of smuggling runs that your submarine will have to have completed. For tier 1 upgrades, your sub will have to have completed 5 smuggling runs to unlock the upgrade. For tier 2 upgrades, your sub will have to have completed 15 runs to unlock the upgrade, for tier 3 upgrades, your sub will have to have completed 45 runs to unlock the upgrade. The runs per upgrade reset with each upgrade so if you do all tier 1 upgrades first, you will have to do 15 smuggling runs to unlock all of them. If you did tier 1 and 2 of speed and tier 1 of durability you would have to go through 25 runs to unlock all of them. In addition to this, when you apply the upgrade, there is a 1 week period of downtime while the upgrade is applied that you cannot use the submarine.

Here are the upgrades and their benefits in more detail:

Capacity:

Upgrading capacity allows you to stock your submarine with more items, which means the rewards will be greater when the run completes. Every capacity upgrade increases capacity by 3,000 for a total of 12,000 after the final upgrade.

Speed:

Upgrading speed makes the submarine go faster, reducing the time to complete a smuggling run. Tier 1 and tier 2 upgrades each reduce the run duration by 2 days, tier 3 reduces the run by 3 days, in total this will reduce the smuggling runs for a submarine from 14 days with no upgrades down to 7 days when fully upgraded.

Durability:

Upgrading durability has two benefits, it will increase the amount of time between maintenance being required on the submarine(not yet implemented, will be a part of phase 5) and it will reduce the amount of time it takes for a smuggling run by 4 hours per tier (for a total of 12 hours when fully upgraded). This is because the submarine will be durable enough to dive below detection range.
