REVIVE guide

I couldn't find much info about reviving on the Forum or Wiki so decided to put this little guide together based on what I've observed during my time. I doubt it's flawless, but hopefully it's useful enough!

1. Unlocking Revives

There's a decent time investment required at the University before you can unlock the ability. You'll need to complete three of the Medical Degree courses in order, totalling 7 weeks.

You can reduce the time University Courses take (up to 10%) by owning or renting a Property with a Study. You can also spend Medallas Plata on the Cram Master perk on your Achievements page for an additional 10% reduction.

2. Interface CHANGES

Once you've completed those three courses, you'll see a few changes to the interface on certain pages:

  • The Home Page: A new "Revive Skill" stat will appear in your Home page, beneath you Intelligence, tracking your progress up to 100%.
  • Player Profiles: A heart-shaped Revive Icon will now appear on the profiles of players.
  • The Hospital: When browsing the Hospital Page, you will see a Revive button next to every patient.
  • Cartel Page: A Revive button will be visible next to your fellow Cartel members' names.

3. Revive mechanics

You start at 1% Revive Skill. Your Revive Skill determines two things: how much Health the recipient receives, and your chance of success. Successful revives will increase your Revive Skill by a very small amount.

At 1% Revive Skill, the highest Revive Chance you can achieve is 90%. For every 5% Revive Skill you gain, that chance will increase from 90% to 100% as you progress from 1% Revive Skill to 50% Revive Skill. As you progress from 50% to 100% Revive Skill, your Revive Chance will increase from 100% to 110%. This extra 10% beyond 100% won't be visible to you, it'll still just look like you have 100% Revive Chance, but it'll act as a small buffer, reducing the effects of Revive Debuffs.

REVIVE DEBUFF: Every time a player is revived, they receive a 15% debuff to the success rate of their revive chance that lasts for 6 hours. If you revive them again while that debuff is active, it subtracts another 15% from their next success chance. 
DEBUFF EXPIRATION: It's worth noting that when a Revive Debuff expires after 6 hours, the player's Revive Chance will suddenly jump back up by 15%; it won't gradually increase over the course of 6 hours.
COOLDOWN: The 6-hour Revive Debuff is unique to each revive. If you revive someone twice for example, they will have two individual 6-hour Debuffs, not one 12-hour Debuff.
TRACKING REVIVES: You can use the filter on your Events page or on your Cartel Events Log to see your recent revives, helpful for keeping track of when players' Revive Chances will increase.

4. Energy & Cartel Perks

By default, a revive costs 50 Energy. However, being in a Cartel with relevant Perks can reduce this cost significantly. Each level of the Cartel's Perk reduces the energy requirement by 5, down to a minimum of 20 Energy. This makes joining a Cartel almost mandatory if you want to spend a lot of effort on reviving, unless you're a glutton for punishment.

An additional benefit of joining a Cartel before you start reviving, is that thanks to a recent update, revives now earn Reputation for you and your Cartel. The minimum amount of Reputation you can earn from a Revive is 100 from a revive at 100% Revive Chance. The amount of Reputation you gain from a revive increases as you successfully revive players who have a lower Revive Chance, rewarding some risk-taking.

Below are some examples of Reputation earned at 100% Revive Skill:

100% Revive Chance - 100 Rep (1st Revive)

95% Revive Chance - 114 Rep (2nd Revive)

80% Revive Chance - 156 Rep (3rd Revive)

65% Revive Chance - 197 Rep (4th Revive)

As with attacks, your Cartel will also earn 25% of however much Reputation you earn from a revive.
