To add onto this, with the current prices of medical items, getting the premium prestige on doctors offices is a downgrade, that makes you less money, making it possible to split med items possibly through an education (new or existing) or something else would level out the prices to make higher tier medical items more expensive than the lower tier again.
For the rates, I think it should be splitting 1 into 2 at max, at least for the first 3 tiers (1 large med kit -> 2 small med kits -> 4 Bandages) since going a tier up doubles the price in the pharmacy if you're buying them.
I think I saw Vaelin mention this idea somewhere, but I can't find a suggestion about it. So here it is.
Currently, the prices of low-tier medical items on the market are far too high because of rep traders who want to keep their cooldown low. Bandages are now around 80k and Small Med Kits around 120k, and the prices are only rising. That's as or even more expensive than the higher-tier medical items.
New players, for who those items are intended, have to fully rely on the NPC market or their cartel armory if they want to use medical items. Most of the time, the low-tier medical items are even completely sold out.
However, there is also an upside to this situation. Doctor offices, which were previously more or less a money sink, can now compete with other productions in terms of output per narco. As an early-game production facility, this can help new players make a decent amount of cash. But it also incentives rep farming and -trading even more, causing the prices of medical items to continue to rise.
As a solution, I propose the ability to split high-tier medical items into lower-tier items. (E.g. one Large Medical Kit can be turned into 4 Small Medical Kits, exact values and balancing tbd.)
That way, rep traders can rely more on the more expensive items and don't need to buy out all the lower-tier medical items from the market.
