New / Reworked
Dog Traits

Better against certain builds and playstyle.

!

The Current Problem

❌ TOO EASY TO META-SWAP
Quick and cheap trait switch to their best dog.
❌ ONE DOG META
Low incentive to own multiple dogs. Loadout system underutilized.
⏳ DEV REALITY
Need meaningful content while delaying and rethinking weapon perks. Dog traits = perfect interim system.

How we prevent black market treats abuse

🎲
1. RARITY GATING <1%
Few traits that are much rarer or much harder to obtain — less or way worse than 1% chance.
⚔️
2. PROC-BASED, NOT PASSIVE
Works like Maiming trait. Only activates/procs IF the dog attacks the opponent and applies the debuff. Requires engagement.
🐕
3. ENCOURAGE COLLECTION
People could have multiple dogs and new loadout actually makes more sense. One dog per certain target.

How It Works: Maiming-Style Proc

STEP 1
DOG ATTACKS
Opponent
STEP 2
PROC CHECK
Roll % Chance
STEP 3
DEBUFF
Applied 5%
All below traits suggestion works like maiming trait, its only activate or proc if the dog attacks the opponent and apply the debuff.

6 Proposed Traits — All 5% Debuffs

Balanced, simple, stackable with team comps.

🩸 BLEED
OFFENSE
Opponent receive 5% more damage

🛡️ BLOCK
DEFENSE
Receive 5% less damage from opponent

💪 SUPPRESS
POWER
Reduce 5% opponent strength

🎯 WITHER
CONTROL
Reduce 5% opponent accuracy

🦿 CRIPPLE
MOBILITY
Reduce 5% opponent agility
🔪 PUNCTURE
SHRED
Reduce 5% opponent defence

Strategic Impact: Why This Works

🐾
MULTIPLE DOGS META
People could have multiple dogs — Bleed dog for KWYY,  Block for tanking, Cripple for dex whores.
🎒
LOADOUTS MAKE SENSE
New loadout actually made more sense. You pick dog based on enemy, not just best stat stick.
⏱️
BUYS DEV TIME
Meaningful interim content while we still delaying and thinking about weapon perks. Low dev cost, high impact.
⚖️
HEALTHIER META
Counters one-build domination. 5% is enough to feel, not enough to break. Tunable per trait.

Balancing: The <1% Rule

Few traits that much rarer or much harder to obtain might less or way worse than 1% chance of obtaining one to prevent quick and cheap trait switch to their best dog.

RECOMMENDED RATES
New chase debuffs: 0.25% - 0.8%
Maiming, Tactical Reload, Metal Detection.45%

Healing Lick, Growl.12%

NEW TRAITS0.5%

SUMMARY

6 Maiming-Style Debuffs.
Proc on Attack. <1% Chase.

Bleed (+5% dmg dealt), Block (-5% dmg taken), Suppress (-5% STR), Wither (-5% ACC), Cripple (-5% AGI), Puncture (-5% DEF) — Encourages multiple dogs, smarter loadouts, healthier meta while we think about weapon perks.

Starting and then stopping
Taking off and landing

The emptiest of feelings
Disappointed people
Clinging onto bottles

Let down and hanging around
Crushed like a bug in the ground
Let down and hanging around...

Just to state what i think is obvious, so there is no confusion. These debuffs would stack like maim as well right?

And when using black market treats, at that point the trait reroll chances would take effect? Or would the traits also only have those rates for dog spawns?

Overall, I think these seem pretty viable.
