This suggestion aims to help with the following:

  • No jobs giving advantages to the gym-maxing gamestyle (as opposed to rep farming with Standard and networth bulding/productions with Robbery)

  • Advanced jobs are irrelevant in current meta other than for achievements

  • Supply issues with highly-used city items like bandages/small med kits, grenades

By:

  • Being able to generate additional daily energy directly from Advanced jobs

  • Being able to generate additional item supply through Advanced jobs
  • Creating a meaningful three-way choice between rep growth, wealth growth, and stat growth focus

Reskinning Blackmail and Hacking

To make sense within the CE world and match the intended benefits of the new job updates, Blackmail and Hacking's name and flavour-text is changed. Existing progress in the jobs is retained without alteration: prestiges and progress towards them, accumulated job success achievements and statistics.

Illicit Importation (formerly Blackmail)

Description: Regulations, sanctions and corruption have led to shortages in many goods. Those with the right connections, however, can find ways to import large quantities of whatever is needed under the guise of legitimate commerce - as long as the right people are willing to turn a blind eye to these activities.

Reward: Same rep as Blackmail + 5x Free (additional) Reset Town Buy Items from the Supporter Shop (can buy 125 more items from town shops) at P0, scaling to 10x at P5 rewards. Cash rewards are removed.

Gameplay Function: Useful for people supplying cartel armories, traders, rep farmers and enchanters/scrappers. Can be used to buy meds grenades for daily use or wars, and weapons and armour for additional daily quality rolls or for breaking down into enchantments.

Impact: Fixes supply problems of these items in the market and acts an additional money sink, reducing inflation.

Underground Clinical Research (formerly Hacking)

Description: Some experiments won't be approved by ethics boards or comittees, but if you want to push the boundaries of what the human body can accomplish, you can't be held back by them. While it won't make money any time soon, you might be able to use this knowledge to maximise your own performance in ways previously thought impossible.

Reward: Same rep as Hacking + a 50% chance to unlock a free (additional) Refill Energy from the Supporter Shop at P0, scaling to 100% at P5 rewards. Cash rewards are removed.

Gameplay Function: Additional energy that doesn't use any cooldowns will provide an edge to the most competitive stat trainers on a daily basis. For those already using high-end alcohol, +200 energy has massive value. With 5/5 timing reduction and additional rewards, this job can generate a whopping +800 daily energy - a worthy reward because getting there can take a RL decade and cost hundreds of billions in lost profits (compared to robbery). Also useful when preparing for war, or to gain an edge in attack/revive/rep contests.

Impact: Creates a job for the hardcore gym gamestyle and a set of very late game rewards.

Supporter Shop Update

To make this work, the ability to stack refills in the supporter shop must be created (this could be used for other purposes down the line, like refills for people returning after long stretches of inactivity). There will be limits of how many refills can be stacked to avoid unfair wars/competitions etc.:

* 1x maximum for Energy (increases to 2 with uni course)
* 10x maximum for Reset Town Buy Items (increases to 20 with uni course)

Buying refills with points will not be possible when one already has stacked refills, encouraging daily use instead of stockpiling.

New Achievement/Medallas Reward

A new achievement reward is added:
Erudite: Increases Advanced Job Skill gain by 1% for each level (up to 10)

This will be a key reward for those seeking to maximise long-term gym gains as Underground Clinical Research is very slow to prestige. The job skill gain from this reward will be additive to the other job skill gain perks.

New Cartel Perk

A new cartel Job Training perk is introduced:
Chaining Efficiency: This upgrade Increases Advanced Job Skill gain by 1% for each level

This will be a key perk for cartels with stat beasts seeking to maximise gym gains. The job skill gain from this perk will be additive to the other job skill gain perks.

The costs of this perk are intentionally very high - it's a late game perk that should differentiate cartels seriously committed to gym gains from cartels with other specialisations. Unlocking the full chain should a major accomplishment for any cartel.

Two New Courses

The two new courses will both add the ability to store additional refills for each job separately. This will be useful when doing these jobs during Church or Calendar events - without the course, additional refills gained would be wasted.

Conclusion

This update should put Advanced jobs back on the map after being dead content for a long time. Providing meaningful specialisation opportunities and tradeoffs, it adds additional options for trader/quartermaster and gym maxing/fighter playstyles with multi-year progression that's actually impactful. It should also help fix supply issues of city items.

I was sceptical looking at the intro, but with it using refills it could work.

Appreciate the very well thought out post and detail included!

I am generally against anything that increases the speed of any progression (wealth/rep/stats etc) as it is already incredibly quick and I think the numbers (for the rewards) here are heavily overtuned to what they should be (should this be implemented).

However, considering the very considerable length of time to prestige any of these - it could be viable.
