I disagree here. We're all used to buy/mugs on the market and accept that's a risk, however trading is different, as it SHOULD be an agreement between 2 parties. There are established traders who guarantee a safe and secure trade. But there will obviously be those who try to take advantage, we're all criminals after all.
Name and shame the trade muggers instead so others know not to do business with them, hurting only themselves in the long run.

I think Cartel Empire should add a short protection period after two players successfully complete a trade. Right now, if someone finishes a legitimate trade and the other person immediately mugs them, it can feel unfair because the player can lose what they just received from the trade. Maybe after a successful trade, both players could get 30–60 seconds of protection from mugging each other, with the protection applying only to those two players and ending immediately if either one attacks the other. This wouldn’t remove mugging or PvP from the game, it would just prevent the annoying “trade and instantly mug” situation and make bigger trades feel safer and more enjoyable.
