I don't like this unless we get a forced notification notifying us of the outbid item. We can all set an alarm and this is exactly how ebay auctions work with the time is done when its done. I would only like this if we got a notification on our device

I think 8 hours is way too much, in my mind this is only to make it impossible to outbid in the last second and be sure to get the item.

In my mind + 5 minutes would be enough extra time to give the outbid player a chance to respond if he's around for the expected finish time, given they're sent an event when they're outbid, (should include a short message of the auction being extended if it's a late bid). If 5 minutes is considered too little, I'd say half an hour at most, and the extension time should be considered a minimum time after a bid to give people a chance to outbid before calling the auction.

2 mins max IMO.

Yeah an extra 1-2minute is good
