Only way to open said mails is via the events log as OP said.

Went to test this and there's no way to enter a username (you can only enter ID)
https://cartelempire.online/SendMail > New Mail
Upon entering 'vaelinn' as a username - it doesn't convert the username to ID.

Confirmed fixed - thanks vae.
Just a tiny inconvenience, but if a Mail has no Subject, it can't be opened via the Mail menu, you'd have to go through the Events menu to get to it.
In the screenshot below, the Subject of the second Mail has a space entered as a character, which can't be clicked/tapped.
