There are a couple of starter guides and rep guides out there, but they tend to be old and not updated since reviving started giving rep and missions appeared. In this guide I’ll focus on how to grow your rep through reviving as a new player.
First of all you need to unlock reviving through the medical education, specifically MED1210, which requires MED1000 and MED1020. Since most guides tells you to start with the med courses to grow your int early on, you’ve hopefully already started on this.
If you don’t have anything to reduce course length finishing these courses will take you 49 days, so you might want to get some course reduction upgrades. You can do this with plata earned from achievements if you upgrade “Cram Master”, which can be upgraded up to 10%, and by living in a property with the right upgrade. If you can afford it, then look for an upgraded Private Estate(PE) to rent for about 1.5m per day at the estate agent (typical price at the time of writing), otherwise a fully upgraded town house is a good start.
In the meantime while you wait for your educations to finish, use your e for training, fighting inactive players for rep or doing missions.
You’ll also want to look for a cartel with maxed out reviving perks, to make your revives only cost 20e like attacking. Generally you’ll want to look for a somewhat high rep cartel to find one with the reviving perks as they cost about 420k rep by themselves, and it’s probably quite limited currently how many cartels outside the top 10 actually have them.
Once you’ve unlocked reviving and joined a cartel with full reviving perks you can go to the hospital and see your revive chance of the hospitalized players. As a completely new reviver your highest success chance will be 80%, but it will improve when your skill increases.
In MR_Midnight’s guide(Check it for some more in-depth reviving knowledge, and a cooler looking guide) he shared the following rep gain per revive chance, and I’ve translated it into average rep per revive in the parenthesis
100% Revive Chance - 100 Rep (100 rep average)
95% Revive Chance - 114 Rep (108.3 rep average)
80% Revive Chance - 156 Rep (124.8 rep average)
65% Revive Chance - 197 Rep (128.05 rep average)
50% Revive Chance - 239 Rep (119.5 rep average)
so if you’re looking for best possible rep gain, you want targets around 60%-80% revive chance, but if you’re just looking to grow your revive skill or revive strictly for the achievements, you’ll want targets with as high revive chance as possible.
Now you're ready to go to the hospital, mark the “Show only players who allow revives“ setting, set your “minimum revive chance” and get reviving.
When I was new and looking for rep targets I managed to find a few who gave me above 100 rep each per hit, but they were highly contested, and sometimes I lost the fight. But if you’re reviving people in the 60-90% range you should be able to get better rep gains than I got for attacking early on. Therefore I think reviving should be one of the go-to ways to earn rep as a new player, while waiting for your int to get up to 60-100 from educations, before moving onto your int grind.
Down the line once you’ve raised your stats significantly, you can beat much higher leveled targets, and earn much more rep, but it’ll take you a long time to get there. So I believe earning your rep reviving at this point where everything else is slower as well, and getting a good amount of your reviving achievements while it makes most sense to revive is a good idea.
