New push notifications

08/10/2026

Hey everyone — I shipped some improvements to push notifications (including a fix for a long-standing job notification bug).

Related bug: Job notification bug and improvements

What’s fixed

  • Cancelling a job (or restarting a job chain) should no longer send a “job completed” notification for the job you cancelled.
  • Job completion notifications are more reliable, and the message now matches what actually happened.

Better job completion messages

When a job finishes, the notification should now say one of:

  • Job successfully completed
  • Job failed
  • Jailed from job
  • Hospitalised from job

New notifications (off by default — opt in if you want them)

These are all turned off unless you enable them in Settings → Notifications:

  • Job Blocked (Jail / Hospital)
Fires when your job timer finishes while you’re still in jail or hospital. The job can’t complete until you’re free, so this lets you know it’s waiting.
  • Expedition Completed
Fires when one or more expeditions finish (success or fail). If several finish at once, you’ll get a single combined notification.
  • Trade Created
Fires for you when another player starts a new trade with you.
  • Trade Pending Your Acceptance
Fires when the other person has accepted and it’s your turn to accept or cancel.
  • Trade Accepted
Fires when a trade is fully accepted and completed.
  • Attacked
Fires when someone attacks you (including mug / hospitalise / fights that end in a draw). This can be frequent if you’re under attack often — turn it off anytime if it’s too noisy.

How to turn them on

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Make sure notifications are enabled for your browser/device
  3. Switch on any of the new options above that you want
  4. Save

Existing notification types (job completed, job chain completed, territory war started, etc.) are unchanged unless you’ve already customised them.

If something still looks wrong after this, drop a reply with what you expected vs what you got and roughly when it happened. Thanks!
