I would also like this as an option.

Not a fan of this, this would effectively allow you to hide from (known) muggers.

We could say the same thing for Tainted Cannabis/Cocaine/refusing revives. Using a Tainted item stops you from getting buymugged at all. Ignoring a player would just stop you from getting buymugged twice.
Besides, I was thinking less about buymugging and more along the lines of someone buying items - one at a time - over and over, in order to spam your Events, much like people have done with sending Cash with messages to players who'd ignored them, before that was remedied.

Tainted Cannabis / Cocaine both cost money and land you in the hospital though. And they are time-limited. I can see the problem of spamming players with single-item purchases. But just hiding your offers would be too easily exploitable.
You could simply report them for spamming.
Another possible solution would be to hide their market logs, but that's also not ideal. You wouldn't be able to see what you sold anymore.

Please no, if you want to avoid a mug there are already plenty of options. And if the person if buying 1-1 then that's a report to mods for spam if they do it everysingle time

- But just hiding your offers would be too easily exploitable.
As a workaround, they could get a friend or Cartel member to watch for your Market listings, have them buy whatever you're selling, then the blocked player could mug you.
- You could simply report them for spamming.
For sure, I agree, but then you'd fall into the endless semantics of what constitutes spamming? 3 purchases within 10 seconds? 10 purchases within 60 seconds? X amount of purchases from the same player on any given day? What if the player argues that they only like carrying very small amounts of cash at any time and buys bit by bit, or that they had to withdraw more cash to buy more stock after already buying some? What if the player doesn't even know that they're blocked and they buy something from the one who blocked them and then get punished for it?

I think we're getting off-topic a bit; I'm not bothered about muggers or buymuggers or anything like that, they're totally valid playstyles. I've never been buymugged, I just think when you add a player to the Ignore List there should be fewer ways to get around it.
I think there's something like that in Torn for the Bazaar that you own where you can prevent people from buying from it.

That's up to the mods to decide.

They could still be spamming without being blocked, that would still not be allowed (probably). And this really isn't about just buying something, it's about spamming a player with purchases.

I don't think it's off-topic. It is an important issue with the suggestion that needs to be addressed somehow.
In my opinion, a better solution would be a way to toggle/disable notifications/market logs for certain players.

That's what private trade is for. You trade privately excluding the people you don't want to do business with. Market is public and should stay that way.

Like I said, they can still randomly mug and attack you whenever they want, or they can work with someone else to buy from you, or Trade cancel you and mug you that way if they're really that determined; I'm not suggesting that Ignoring someone just disables their attack button, just that using the Ignore feature should reasonably prevent someone from communicating or interacting with you in a way that isn't crucial and I'd argue that buying stuff from one particular person isn't crucial.

You said earlier that this wouldn't be ideal as it'd stop you from being able to see what you've sold :S You'd have to get notified if you got attacked at least though surely?
Plus I'd bet that'd get reported as a bug so much that it gets reverted out of frustration from the devs haha 😄
Maybe private player-ran shops could be worth suggesting, that lets them have some agency that way?

Just a small quality of life change that I'd find value in would be the option to have your Item Market listings be made invisible to or unable to be purchased by people you've added to your Ignore List/Enemies List.
